Wynn Hotel Las Vegas

Our Wynn Hotel Las Vegas Review:

Unless you’re accustomed to luxury, Wynn Las Vegas has been known to produce sticker-shock in its guests. From room rates to the daily fee to use the fitness centre, nothing comes cheap in this high-flying resort at the northern end of the Strip. Most of these prices are warranted, however, as the Wynn is truly one of Vegas’ most opulent and sophisticated resorts.

No detail has been left unturned in the quest to dazzle visitors. From the mini-bar in your room to the hallway light fixtures, Wynn Las Vegas oozes luxury. As expected from the creator of some of the Strip’s flashiest addresses, Steve Wynn once again went all out on his newest venture. Only here can you climb a manmade mountain or shoot 18 holes of golf without leaving the resort.

But the grand size of the Wynn is also one of its problems. It can take a surprisingly long time to walk to the pool or a restaurant from the rooms, and the overall level of service is rather impersonal considering how much you’re paying for your stay. But besides these downsides, there isn’t much to criticise here.

Standard rooms are huge and wonderfully apportioned. Floor-to-ceiling windows showcase Wynn’s desert golf course or views of the Strip, and all the high-tech goodies you could ask for are installed. Wynn even had his own bed created, the king-size Wynn Dream Bed by Sealy, which really does redefine the sleeping experience. Bathrooms are equally large and luxurious, but internet access comes with a steep day-use fee.

The casino at Wynn Hotel Las Vegas is spacious and well-designed, though its tables have rather high minimums. The resort is famous for its range of dining options, with almost too many tempting choices, all of which lean towards the expensive end of the spectrum. Two of Vegas’ hottest clubs are here as well, the intimate Blush and the party-happy Tryst.

The two swimming pools at Wynn are divided into an over-21s topless European environment with a mild party vibe and outdoor blackjack tables, and a massive main pool surrounded by trees, greenery and lots of space to spread out. The resort’s spa and fitness centre are both among the best in Las Vegas, but there’s a steep daily fee to use either.

Golfers will be thrilled to know that the Wynn is home to the only golf course on the Strip. Designed by Tom Fazio, it’s located right behind the resort and is both challenging and scenic. The only downside: major greens fees. The location of the Wynn Las Vegas also puts it well outside of the action on the Strip ― you’ll need a taxi to get to the mid-Strip.

Overall, the Wynn is an adult resort. There are few amenities or thematic entertainment for young guests, but nothing in the way of affordable dining and a general atmosphere of exclusivity. Yet it’s an amazing place to stay for those with deep pockets, with a level of cleanliness and attention to detail that is unrivalled on the Strip.Been here?
