Our Vdara Hotel Las Vegas Review:
All the fun and excitement of the Vegas Strip without the noise or crowds is what guests at the Vdara hotel can expect. As one of the three hotels in the sparkling new City Center complex, Vdara has the look and feel of a brand new luxury sports car. This is a quiet haven for visitors who want a tranquil place to retreat to after forays on the Strip.
The modern, minimalist décor is keeping in style with the current trend in Vegas resorts. All of the rooms in Vdara Las Vegas are actually suites, featuring spacious bathrooms, kitchenettes and a large flat-screen TV. This is the kind of Vegas room you will want to hang out in, and the separate sitting space with big windows looking out over the Strip provides the ideal place to relax. All of the beds are king-size with comfortable, pillow-top mattresses.
The kitchenette is a useful component of every suite, equipped with a mini bar, an empty fridge, a microwave, a two-burner stove and a sink. The bathrooms are huge, with both a deep soaking tub and a separate shower. Top-flight Aveda bath products are stocked in every room. There are four suite options, each slightly larger than the other and with more amenities and nicer views. One and two-bedroom penthouse suites crown the Vdara, offering incredibly nice accommodation.
The absence of a casino inside Vdara is what makes it so tranquil. This absence of gambling may not appeal to some visitors, but just next door is another City Center masterpiece called Aria, which has all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a resort on the Vegas Strip. There is a chic little bar in the lobby that serves a menu of light fare and a superb wine listing, while the Market Café offers fresh breakfast items, coffee and sandwiches. There is also in-suite dining with a more extensive menu.
The pool is humble but immaculately clean and enjoyable. Its concept is something like lounge-meets-spa, with private cabanas and day beds available for rent and extensive poolside food and drink service. The Spa & Salon Vdara is also well-designed, with all the beauty treatments and soaking pools one would expect from a luxury resort.
A detail of the Vdara that will appeal to environmentally-conscious travellers is its LEED Gold status, which means that the entire building is green and energy conservative. The hotel is also smoke-free. Another boon is the free and very fast wireless internet service available throughout the hotel.
The Vdara is tucked away behind the rest of the City Centre complex, which means it is not directly on the Strip. A pleasant five-minute walk drops you off right on the Strip, however, so access and transport are not an issue. A slick tram runs from Vdara to City Center’s posh shopping mall, Crystals, and then on to the Bellagio and the Monte Carlo. These are the two closest resorts to Vdara, although Aria is even closer. For a sophisticated oasis of calm and style right in the heart of the Strip, it’s hard to top Vdara.Been here? Rate it:Rating: 0.0/5 (0 votes cast)
