Our Trump Hotel Las Vegas Review:
Definitely not a casino resort but much more than your average luxury hotel, the Trump Las Vegas caters to visitors who want an intimate home-away-from-home, just steps from the Strip. This non-gaming condominium hotel won’t appeal to anyone who wants to stay in the thick of the action and experience a classic Viva Las Vegas weekend. But it has a lot going for it and simply oozes class.
If you want to hang out in Vegas gambling, dining and enjoying a couple of shows but loathe the idea of schlepping through a densely packed casino resort with thousands of strangers then the Trump is for you. This hotel is pure luxury, but you’d never know it from the room rates.
The hotel has only been open a couple of years so everything is brand new and state-of-the-art. There are just 1,282 spacious suites, but they sure are nice. The clean, sophisticated décor looks good, with the two flat-screen TVs, a Jacuzzi tub, a marble shower and quality toiletries. The bed is ridiculously comfortable and covered in the finest bedding. Oh, and there’s a kitchen with a sub-zero fridge.
How much would a luxury suite like this cost, you ask? Room rates at the Trump are among the most affordable in the Strip area. The catch? The Trump Hotel Las Vegas is not located on the Strip. It only takes five minutes on foot to reach Wynn Las Vegas, but the walk is rather unpleasant and even a bit dodgy after dark. Chances are you’ll want to use taxis to move between the hotel and the Strip, but that’s a minor issue.
Trump’s outdoor heated pool is nice but small and humble. During the week, you may be the only person using it as the hotel tends to empty out during the weekdays. The entire property can feel a tad deserted at times since there are no in-house attractions to lure outside visitors. This weekday solitude may appeal to some but the absence of energy can also be a mood killer. Yet come Friday, the hotel is rocking with weekend warriors.
The Spa at Trump is perhaps the hotel’s best feature. Recognised as one of the world’s top spas by travel magazines, the 11,000 square foot venue offers all the treatments you can think of at reasonable rates. The fitness centre is as modern as possible and its day use fee is included in the automatic resort fee added to the room.
There are only two restaurants at the Trump, but both of them strive towards a fine dining experience and as such, they are expensive. The 24-hour room service is a useful option though most guests eat at more interesting venues on the Strip. As with all Trump properties, service is a priority and source of pride. The concierge is on duty around the clock and the rooms are cleaned with meticulous detail.
All in all, the Trump Las Vegas is a great place to stay if you can handle being away from the centre of the action. It goes out of its way to accommodate infants and children, and even allows pets. The rooms are arguably the best deal in the city, especially if you plan to stay more than a couple of nights.Been here? Rate it:Rating: 0.0/5 (0 votes cast)
